Our Journey

Our environmental policy was championed through the Welsh Green Dragon Awards. The Green Dragon Award, is a stepped approach to environmental management and offers a strategy which is relevant to the specific needs of a company.

The Green Dragon Standard incorporates the following key principles of Environmental Management:

  • Continual Environmental Improvement
  • Compliance with Environmental Legislation
  • Pollution Prevention
    • Communication of Environmental Issues
When we reached Green Dragon level 4 out of 5 in 2007, we moved the focus to obtaining ISO14001 accreditation. Set up by the International Organisation for Standardisation, the ISO 14001 is the most important environmental standard in the world. Supported by environmentalists and governments alike the ISO4001 is designed to help organisations protect the environment, prevent pollution and improve their environmental performance. We achieved ISO4001 in May 2008.

Last year we obtained the highest level possible within Green Dragon – Level 5. We commit to regular environmental audits to ensure we continue to achieve the highest possible standards, measuring and monitoring and reducing our energy usage, targeting Co2 reduction and providing new targets for sustainability.
